Terms of service
The rules for buying and using a Containly Pro licence.
Provider
Containly is made and sold by Pascal Amsler (Amslertec), Spycherweg 3, 8957 Spreitenbach, Switzerland, a sole proprietor. Amslertec is not a company and is not entered in the commercial register; there is no VAT number. Contact: support@containly.ch. Details are in the legal notice.
Reseller and payment
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
When you buy a licence, you buy it from Paddle, and Paddle's buyer terms apply to the purchase. Paddle calculates and collects the sales tax or VAT for your country and issues the invoice.
Software licence
Using the Containly software is governed by the Containly Software License. These terms add the rules for buying and using a Pro licence. If the two differ, these terms apply to the purchase and the Software License to the use of the software.
Free tier
Containly is free for up to 2 Docker hosts per installation (the local host and one more), with every feature that is not marked Pro, no account and no expiry. No purchase is needed for that.
Pro licence
- A Pro licence is valid for 1 Containly installation, which can manage an unlimited number of Docker hosts, and unlocks the Pro features (for example Microsoft Entra ID single sign-on and appearance presets).
- You get a licence key by e-mail and enter it in Containly under Settings, Version and licence. The key is for you or your organisation; you may not share, publish or resell it.
- To move Containly to another server, deactivate the licence on the old installation first, then activate it on the new one. We can free an installation for you if the old server is gone.
- Containly checks the licence online when you activate it and then about once a day. It keeps working when the check cannot reach us for a while.
Plans, renewal and cancellation
The plans and prices (in Swiss francs) are shown in the pricing section; the amount you pay, including taxes, is shown at checkout.
- Pro Monthly and Pro Annual are subscriptions. They renew automatically for another month or year until you cancel. You can cancel any time from the licence page in your Containly account or, as a fallback, in the Paddle customer portal (the link is in every e-mail from Paddle) or by writing to us; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for, and Pro stays on until then.
- Pro Monthly and Pro Annual start with a free 7-day trial. If you cancel during the trial, nothing is charged; otherwise the first period is billed when the trial ends. The trial is available once per customer: a further subscription of the same customer starts and is billed right away.
- Pro Lifetime is a one-time payment. It is valid for the lifetime of the product and includes all updates, with no renewal.
A refund within 14 days is possible for every plan, see the refund policy. If a payment is refunded or charged back, the licence is revoked.
Warranty and liability
Containly is provided as it is. It has root-equivalent access to the Docker hosts you connect; you are responsible for how you configure, secure and back up your systems. To the extent permitted by law, we give no warranty that the software is free of errors or fit for a particular purpose, and liability for damages arising from its use, including loss of data or lost profit, is excluded. Liability for intent and gross negligence remains (Art. 100 of the Swiss Code of Obligations). Mandatory consumer protection law of your country is not affected.
Changes
We may update these terms. Changes apply to purchases and renewals after they are published on this page; for an existing subscription we tell you by e-mail before a renewal under new terms.
Applicable law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The place of jurisdiction is the domicile of the provider, subject to mandatory consumer jurisdiction.
